Dear Student,
Have you had a positive or enriching experience with a staff, faculty member, or department in your time at UCSB? Show your gratitude for these community leaders by nominating them for the annual Margaret T. Getman or William J. Villa Service to Students Award! Nominations are open now until Thursday, April 9th, at 5pm, so get your nominations in!
The Margaret T. Getman Award seeks to recognize a staff or faculty member who goes above and beyond for their students and consistently strives for excellence through their work at the University. The William J. Villa Award seeks to recognize a department or team that goes above and beyond for students and shows a commitment to supporting student growth and success.
Recognition truly makes an impact. Let’s honor those who make a unique, positive difference in the lives of students and uplift our campus community. The nominees and recipients will be honored on Thursday, May 21st, 2026 from 9 - 11am at the Student Affairs Divisional Meeting in Corwin Pavilion.
If you know a staff or faculty member who has exceeded their job duties to make a positive impact, please consider nominating them for the Margaret T. Getman Award; similarly, if you’ve noticed a department that’s done extraordinary work this year, consider nominating them for the William J. Villa Award.
Please direct all questions and comments to the awards committee co-chairs, Makayla Wilson or Joe Sabado at sa-getmanvilla@ucsb.edu.
